Bio
- Victoria Jones is Chief Global Affairs Officer of the University of California, Irvine (UCI), a public university with a $2.7 billion budget, $653 million in research funding, 25,000 employees, and 38,000 students in 2023. Victoria was hired as the first senior international officer and transformed the enterprise with its first international strategic investments, new organizational structures, marketing communications, government compliance, foreign government relations, and global risk management. From the time she joined UCI in 2014, funding from international sources doubled, research with international partners increased by 30%, study abroad grew by 120%. Victoria effectively navigates between cultures and is attuned to diverse interests. She is American-Brazilian, raised in Hawaii, living in California. Before joining UCI, she established new international operations for Seattle University in Washington, the School of Business at the University of Texas in San Antonio, and Fundação Getúlio Vargas in São Paulo, Brazil. She has worked in the arts, in public relations, and was, for a short time, a radio disk jockey.
